Defender Of Metal / Heroes Of Tomorrow
Pure Steel

In zanglijnen, in gitaarloopjes, in songstructuren.

Pure Steel is on its way to become the favorite label of the traditional metal fan. On its path to eternal fortune and fame it picks up young, unknown bands and gives them a chance to present themselves to the world. Origin doesn't matter, look at this example actually. Hellish War comes from Brazil and on this platter their first two self released albums (from 2001 and 2008) are brought together. In true Pure Steel tradition you may expect pure heavy metal (in eighties spheres). Their "Defender of metal" material has a rougher edge to it, "Heroes of tomorrow" is more recent, more smoothly as well. The Maiden influence is high on both parts of this album. In the vocal parts, in the guitar licks, in the song structure. Something you tolerate because of the bands ancestry, the same goes for the cliché lyrics and the accent. But you have to admit that it takes more to impress. Hellish War has a few interesting tracks ("Hellish war", "Defender of metal", "Son of a king") but draws the most attention by the fact that they are a sort of curiosity as a pure (eighties) Brazilian metal band... http://www.myspace.com/warhellishwar
