Hell Spawn

Na een ep (2009) en een behoorlijk succesvol debuut "Dark horizons" in 2012 werd het ietsjes stiller rond deze band uit Manchester. Het klikte ook niet meer met hun zanger Mark, die na hun optreden op Bloodstock in 2014 de band verliet! Een vervanger werd gevonden in Gaz Pearson, maar na 1 optreden bleek die met de noorderzon verdwenen. Daniel Buxton (Soma Dark - rip) werd aangetrokken als vervanger voor hun optreden op SoSfest in 2016. Daniel deed ondanks de korte periode om zich in te werken een heuse killer job. Het verbaasde ons dan ook niet dat hij enige tijd later de band vervoegde als vast bandlid. Ook is de band terug een 5 koppige formatie, net zoals op hun ep "The day the angels died", want hun vroegere gitarist Will Reese is terug. Babylon Fire klinkt beter en heaviër dan voordien en ze zijn hongerig om hun verloren tijd terug in te halen. Hun eerste werk samen is deze nieuwe ep "Heresy in black" welke garant staat voor een ruime 30 minuten speeltijd. De nieuwe songs klinken vertrouwd en zijn op en top Babylon Fire. Daniel Buxton past qua stem perfect bij de band en is eerlijk gezegd ook gevarieerder en powerfuller dan zijn voorganger. De eerste lyric video "Coup de grâce" is een uppercut van jewelste en samen met opener "Raven cursed" onze persoonlijke favoriet. Ferme en krachtige terugkeer, binnenkort voor 2 concerten te zien in ons Belgenlandje!

After an ep (2009) and a pretty successful debut with "Dark horizons" in 2012, things got a little quiet around this band from Manchester. Itdidn't really click either with their singer Mark, who left the band after their performance at Bloodstock in 2014! Gaz Pearson replaced the old singer, but after 1 performance he also left the band.Daniel Buxton (Soma Dark - rip) was recruited as hissubstitute to perform at SoSfest in 2016. Despite a short period of time to prepareDaniel did a real killer job. It didn't really come as asurprise when he joined the band shortly after as a regular band member. Since the return of their former guitarist Will Reese, Babyon Fire is a 5-piece band, just like they we're at the time of their ep "The day the angels died". Babylon Fire sounds better and heavier than before and they are determined to catch up on their lost time. Their first work together is the new EP "Heresy in black" which guarantees a good 30 minutes of play.The new songs sound familiar and are 100% Babylon Fire. Daniel Buxton's voice fits the band perfectly and is frankly also more varied and powerfull than that ofhis predecessors. The first lyric video "Coup de grâce" is a major uppercut and together with the opening track"Raven cursed" our personal favorite. A great and  powerful return for this band that will soon be back in Belgium for 2 concerts!
