De wondere wereld van het internet. Via via leer je groepen kennen waar je anders nooit zou kunnen naar luisteren. Relic is er zo eentje van. Blijkbaar hebben ze reeds drie albums op hun actief. Ze brengen, en zo omschrijven ze hun muziek zelf, middeleeuwse progressieve metal. Ze zien zichzelf als middeleeuwse krijgers of kruisvaarders die terug tot leven gewekt zijn door de muziek. En bij mij kunnen ze echt op krediet rekenen. Hun (soms vrij complexe) composities à la Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Dream Theater slaan echt aan. Ze weten een epische mysterieuze sfeer te creëren, niet in het minst door de vele tempowissels en dankzij het markante stemgeluid van de zanger. Kruis de stembanden van Crimson Glory en Manilla Road en je komt aardig in de buurt. Voeg de lekker vettige gitaren toe en je krijgt een lekkere pot metal. "Seruvim fallen" en "Protect us from evil" zijn prachtige nummers. Mochten platenbonzen deze review lezen, dan weten ze wat ze mogen doen. Ik snap het namelijk niet dat deze gasten nog steeds geen contract hebben!

The wonderful world of the internet... You discover pearls you would never hear of otherwise. Relic, for example. I noticed they already have three albums, but to be honest, I've never heard of them before. They describe their music as medieval progressive metal. They used to be warriors or crusaders in the ancient times, and they were brought back to life with the power of music. And they have my blessing! Their (sometimes complexe) compositions make me think of the style of Genesis, Led Zeppelin and Dream Theater and kick you in the face. They know how to create an epic, mysterious atmosphere thanx to the many tempo breaks and in particular the special vocals. Blend some Manilla Road with Crimson Glory, that might give you an impression. Add the greasy guitars and you have a great cup of metal. "Seruvim fallen" and "Protect us from evil" are magnificent songs. If anybody from a record company might read this, they know what they should do. I don't understand these guys didn't get a deal yet...
